As we all know, the increasing sea levels which are caused by global warming have been a threat to coastal populations. Response for Innovations for the Developing World One purpose that the writer wants to attain is to clean contaminated water, using water purifier. In our daily life, we utilize the ion-exchange method, distillation or other appropriate methods to obtain the pure water, but it may not work in some developing countries. In this case, the Dean Kamen’s approach contains great significance. Firstly, the crystal clear water, the outgrowth of purification, is effective in promoting metabolism because of its high solubility and the strongest affinity with human cells. Besides, Drinking more purified water will cleanse the oil in human digestive system and reduce their blood lipids, and it will also lower cholesterol levels. By contrast, more intake of the dirty water is more likely to suffer diseases. In conclusion, it is a great invention because it will bring a more healthy life of civilians of the developing world.

Summary: Mr. Mom by Tony Hicks Mr. Mom by Tony Hicks is a short article about that fathers stay at home to take care of children. The phenomenon is more common in rich area. Even though the change for most parents is not easy, it is actually a better way in contrast to women staying at home because through this way the dads can bond well with their children and it is also a positive experience for them.          Popular Mechanics by Raymond Carver is a short story about that a couple in a bad situation scramble for their baby. The man is packing his luggage in the bedroom, and the woman comes in crying loudly and takes the baby’s photograph away. After she leaving, the man finishes his packing and goes out to the living room. He tries to wrest the baby from the woman and then they fight each other for him. Finally, the issue comes.         The story is told from point of view of third person. The author just stays aside and observes what is going to happen between the couple. The plot progresses chronologically over the course of one day. There are two main characters: the man and the woman, whose marriage is getting dark. The writer sees indifferently, liking a camera.         I find the narrative interesting and sympathize with the baby. Actually, there is a similar case around me...

In An Upheaval by Anton Chekhov, the writer describes that Mashenka goes back to the house and finds maid-servants are being searched by mistress under a vile way. With confusion, she goes back to her room and finds the mistress is rummaging in her room, which she thinks is an insult to her. But Mashenka still goes for the dinner, with feeling of resentment. After the dinner, she feels wretched and stifled and is going to leave. While she is packing, Nikolay Sergeitch, the master comes in and say that he has stolen the brooch in order to let her stay. Firstly, complete all the program study tasks. Our study is divided into two stages. The first stage is Intensive English Program, which will start on Jul 3 rd , finish on Aug 30 th , and I will attend classes together with international students in the program. The second stage is customized courses, including Leadership Research and Academic Skills, which will start on Sep 5 th , finish on Sep 29 th . As we all know, University of California, Riverside is famous for its’ rich teaching resources and high quality teaching level, So I think study there will certainly improve my comprehensive ability  which will lay a solid foundation of my future academic research, and this is why I choose this summer visiting program. Secondly, in my spare time, I decide to join some legal students’ organizations to work as a volunteer.
