Government should do
something helpful to refugees who are homeless because of the calamities. As we
all know, the increasing sea levels which are caused by global warming have
been a threat to coastal populations. As Handwerk (2004) mentions, “sea level
could rise between 4 and 35 inches by the end of the century,” and “such rises
could have major effects for coastal dwellers.” This shows many countries will
suffer it in the future. Unfortunately, many environmental refugees now already
live in dangerous slums. For example, “Korail sits on public land and is shared
by at least 40000 people crowded into cramped, cockroach-infested rental shanties
made of mud, bamboo and corrugated tin” (Kakissis, 2010, para. 11). This illustrates
that some countries have helped refugees, but they do not have the capacity to
make life better for Refugees because they are not rich. So, in my opinion, no
matter which government should do something in its power; in addition, a
wealthy one should do more things than a relatively poor country. For instance,
United States is richer than China, so, of course, both of them should do
something helpful; besides, United States should do more things.
Nice work here: your quotation sandwiches are well done. 95
