Summary: Environmental Refugees Unable to Return Home by Joanna Kakissis

In Environmental Refugees Unable to Return Home by Joanna Kakissis, the author describes millions upon millions of demos, in developing countries, could leave their home and move somewhere else because of calamities and worsening surroundings. Environmental refugees leave for metropolises in order to tax resources. In Bangladesh, people are forced to leave their hometown for Dhaka, and it becomes permanent; in addition, they live in slums and shantytowns which are vulnerable when they face with global warming. Besides, trafficking and arson around them threaten their lives at all times. As human beings are wont to do, environmental refugees are eager to go home, but some of their houses have been destroyed because of the erosion of the river, the intense storm or other disasters. In view of this, international organizations have offered a helping hand to help these homeless, but the situation is still not optimistic.

  1. Good work, but what is this, "millions upon millions of demos,"?
